In line with her fierce independence, she insisted on carrying her own rucksack up (I had argued that her stuff would fit in mine), only to find that it was a bit much for her to carry back down, unsurprisingly. So I ended up supporting Mum on the way down over those massive rock steps, with a rucksack on my back, hers on my front, so I couldn’t see where my feet were going... Laughs and smiles all the way, though!
